Generic 9-mans Morris board (12th-19th C, England)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by the Mary Rose gaming cask lid, 81A1995. Board: oak, carved and the lines pigmented. Pieces are Mountain ash painted with either lamp black or iron red pigment in oil. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This board is to be featured in our forthcoming\u00a0Historical Replica Construction – Mary Rose\u00a0<\/a><\/em>: Volume 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gl\u00fcckshaus board (15th-16th C, Germany)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by a board in the Bavarian National Museum (museum number R 94). One side features numbers and the other dice spots. Frame and panel board, painted with lamp black, chalk white and rose madder lake pigments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This set of Roman period dice have the cup and ring mark painted with lamp black and rose madder lake pigment in egg binder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Roman sets have opposing faces adding up to seven, other variations are possible for other periods and cultures.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Early modern dice have the same opposing sum, but with single dots instead of the cup and ring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
