Coppergate Technology started in 2006 as an IT infrastructure consultancy in the mobile and logistics space. In 2015, we changed to investigating technology throughout history. The name is taken from Coppergate in York. I was sitting in a cafe near there when I got the call to say I’d got the job I’d applied for and needed to set up a consultancy.
Since 2015, we’ve made interpretations of historical objects, researched technology and techniques and accidentally become a world authority on the work of Robert Mindum (active 1593-1612).
