Coppergate Technology started in 2006 as an IT infrastructure consultancy in the mobile and logistics space. In 2015, we changed to investigating technology throughout history. The name is taken from the street, Coppergate in York. I was sitting in a cafe near there when I got the call to say I needed to set up a consultancy.
Since 2015, we’ve made interpretations of historical objects, researched technology and techniques and accidentally become a world authority on the work of Robert Mindum (active 1593-1612).
Working with Sven the Merchant, we’re taking part in writing and publishing the popular Making Historical Reproductions series of books and eBooks. The current list is on our publications page.
Items for sale will appear in our online store, many of these were produced for the books.
