Transitory by nature, this was the monthly calendar of Dryhtenfyrd between 1990 and the collapse. Initially released under the banner “Scandal”, it quickly became “Ignominia”, succumbing to the same case of Bad Latins as Mons Meditari. The initial name may have only been for the February 1990 issue, and may have precipitated the Bad Latin attack on Mons Med. It’s been lost in time, washed away like tears in the rain.
A single A3 format calendar, most issues contained an exhortation to nail it to your fridge. As a result, most didn’t last longer than that month. All the smut and innuendo the editors could possibly compile or fabricate was then added to the reverse side of the A3, ensuring that many of them ended up going straight in the bin to ensure parents didn’t start asking awkward questions, such as, “why is that boy naked and why are you drawing a g-string on his head?”. The club did have a terrible fixation on the subject of catemites, possibly only exceeded by the medieval church itself, and the humour did eventually improve slightly (or we ran out of blackmail photos)
In theory, no two issues looked the same, and most issues had some sort of gimmick. At least one went out with a sealed section when the outer pages were printed the wrong way around on the A3 sheet. From the look of these, the two editors alternated responsibility for each month so no one was left too scarred by the experience.
Don’t say you weren’t warned.
