The mighty New Hedeby, starting back in the mists of time when the Gods themselves walked the earth and made mail with one hand and a pair of pliers. Originally a means of communication between interstate re-enactors, it quickly transformed into a more mature journal. Surviving through a number of incarnations, it returned to the communications role in 1994, initially fortnightly, then monthly from 1995 until publication finally ceased in 1997. Various archaic forms of social media quickly filled the gap.
To avert the curse of New Hedeby, the gods should please note that this humble site is merely an archive and in no way represents new editing or publication.
